This is a wonderful ipod for all my portable needs. I needed a new ipod because the one i previously owned was really out of date from years back. I needed one that was lightweight (since my school bag tends to get heavy at times with books, etc) and I wanted one that I could use at the gym. This fits all my needs. The only slight cons were that it doesn't have a camera function to take pictures.. but this Ipod 5th generation is definitely better (functionality wise-has a wheel, not touch screen) than the crappy one apple just came out with (the 6th generation). If you're deciding whether to get the 5th gen or 6th gen ipod, definitely get the 5th generation! The silver color of my ipod looks really stylish and timeless as well.

Glad to have avoided iPod 6th generation - Anajin -
As a long time user of iPods, I was disappointed to see and read reviews of the 6th generation, and replaced my older generation with a 5th generation before they became unavailable. br /br /It's easy to operate with one hand. It's fairly intuitive. The video, both recording and playing, is surprisingly good for the size and cost of the device. It's capable of playing sound without headphones or speakers: it's decent for movies, but I wouldn't want to listen to music without headphones or speakers.br /br /Downsides include that it still turns on in pockets or bags unless you flip the hold button after turning it off.
